Bond Street (1947)

By 1947, the pupil population had reached 450 and Harold Moodey was Headmaster. It was the year that saw the discontinuation of the ‘Preparatory Forms’ which caused some disquiet by some at the time.

Conditions at the school were by now very congested forcing some huts to be introduced as overflow classrooms. Much talk was in the air about a new much needed school but it would prove to be over ten years before that came to fruition by which time, with over five hundred boys in the school, it really was creaking at the seams.
